Day 47 (Part 3- Day 10) St. Genevieve, MO) → Grand Tower, IL

42 Miles Today, 1410 Miles Total!

It was a great day on the River! Little overcast with a light breeze seems to be our guy's new favorite type of weather.

As they have passed through St. Louis, there's less natural scenery and much more industrial traffic. Even so, they still find traces of mother nature's beauty. They even stumbled across a historical site, today, as well. Lewis and Clark passed through these parts 222 years ago!

Once they arrived in Grand Tower, IL, for the evening, they were faced with a simple 1.5 mile walk into town (only took 25 minutes). They were rewarded with gas station pizza and nice young lady gave them a ride back to their campsite.

They have hit a couple bumps along the way, as Ian's sleeping mat blew a hole and the screw broke off of Troy's seat on the canoe. Good thing the guys will finish up their week, tomorrow, with only 28 miles to get to Cape Girardeau, MO. Their wives plan on meeting them there for a little resupply and hotel stay (new mattress and screw for the canoe, too!)
